Train the Catch, Power Phase & Core Rotation. On Land.
You get on the water once or twice a week when conditions and life allow. That's not enough to get as fast as you want to be, and you know it. The HyperTorc Paddle allows you to train on your schedule, not the water's.
Why Other SUP Training Devices and Methods Fall Short
Cable machines aren’t able to replicate the SUP movement pattern, and rowing ergs and standard ski ergometers train the wrong movement patterns. Dedicated SUP ergometers exist but cost $2,000 or more and use paddles that don't move like your paddle moves in the water.
None of them produce the biomechanics that SUP actually demands: a downward catch, horizontal power phase, and asymmetrical trunk rotation from a standing position.
Train Whenever You Want. Wherever You Are.
The HyperTorc Paddle allows you to train the exact movement patterns, body positions, and stroke mechanics on land. Nothing else does that at any price.
Train with a Ski Ergometer, Resistance Bands, or a Cable Machine. At home, at the gym, and year-round. The more consistently you train your fitness and the correct technique, the faster you paddle. It's that simple.

What the HyperTorc Paddle Does Differently:
The HyperTorc Paddle is a 43-inch training bar with a paddle-style grip on one end, and at the other end, webbing is attached on both sides of a shovel-handle-shaped “blade,” which replicates the feeling of pushing a paddle blade into and through the water while SUP paddling.
True Downward Catch
By funneling high-angle resistance into a central floating harness, the HyperTorc Paddle produces a true downward drive that trains the critical water entry phase that standard dryland trainers miss. While the most realistic water ‘feel’ is recreated when attached to a ski ergometer with our proprietary ‘ski adapter’, the HyperTorc Paddle can also be attached to an overhead cable machine or elastic resistance for similar mechanical loading of the critical catch phase.
Blade Angle Advantage
Dual-point webbing at the blade end gives immediate visual and tactile feedback if your paddle twists off-axis during the power phase, keeping your stroke mechanics locked in. That blade angle feedback is unique to the HyperTorc Paddle. We patented it and no other land-based trainer provides it.
Multi-Angle Conditioning
Beyond the standard forward stroke, the ergonomic design allows pushing and pulling movements at multiple angles, enabling comprehensive rotational core stability, shoulder health, and cross-training.
Features:
Full SUP stroke replication: arm position, hand position, core activation and body mechanics trained exactly as they occur on the water.
True Downwad Catch and Blade Angle Advantage.
Multi-angle versatility: pushing and pulling movements at multiple angles for full-range SUP conditioning.
Connects to a Ski Ergometer (via the included Ski Adapter) as well as resistance bands or cable machines.
Lightweight and durable aluminum and fiberglass design: built for regular training.
Designed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy to maximize rotational core recruitment while keeping your shoulders healthy.
FAQs
Where can I buy the HyperTorc Paddle?
The HyperTorc Paddle is currently a working prototype but we are shooting for an early 2027 commercial rollout.
Where can I try it out?
We are performing user testing at local races with our demo station. Follow us on social media to see where we will be next!
Does it work?
Absolutely. Serious cyclists use indoor trainers, and serious runners use treadmills. HyperTorc Paddling is land-based training, but the fitness and muscle memory carry over directly to the water. Just as swimmers rely on dryland workouts, regular training with the HyperTorc Paddle builds the strength and technique you need to paddle faster.
What if I don't have a ski ergometer?
Resistance bands and cable machines work as well, and we include a Resistance Band or Ski Adapter with every HyperTorc Paddle purchase.
How often should I use the HyperTorc Paddle?
Since it replaces the sessions you can't get on the water, use it on the days you can't paddle and count HyperTorc and on-water sessions together.
Level Total Per Week
Beginner 1– 2
Intermediate 3–4
Advanced 5+
How long should HyperTorc Paddle sessions be?
It depends on your fitness level and how much paddling you do — but here's a starting point:
Level Total
Beginner 10-20 min
Intermediate 20-30 min
Advanced 30+ min
From the Inventor
"Most paddlers would get on the water more if they could. HyperTorc gives you that training session whenever you want it, with the exact body mechanics of a real SUP stroke. The more you train the right movement, the more efficient and powerful you become, and the faster you get."
